According to a report by Daily Post, at least 10 of Rohr’s men are down with the flu giving the manager serious concerns. Players affected by the mysterious sickness are Ahmed Musa, Abdullahi Shehu, Henry Onyekuru, Leon Balogun and Paul Onuachu. Also, Oghenekaro Etebo and Chidozie Awaziem are not in their best shape having just recovered from a bug. Preparations weren’t in top shape Just a few days ago, the team lost 1 – 0 to Senegal in their last match preparing for the big event. Perhaps, these are signs that all is not well with them. It makes sense because most of Super Eagles’ player work outside of Africa and a sudden change in weather can lead to serious issues. However, this time around, reports suggest the incident is due to air conditioning in their apartments. Unfortunately, there are no push-aside African teams anymore since all nations are taking their football teams more seriously. Nigeria will be playing Burundi in their opening match on Saturday 22nd of June, 2019. After that, they will be dealing with Guinea on Wednesday the 26th of June, and then Madagascar on the 30th of June. What Nigerians expect Nigerians expect nothing less than the Super Eagles topping group B at the end of the first round. After all, out of all the teams they are the most equipped and probably the most experienced. Team captain, Mikel Obi, has said his team is capable of winning the competition. Every other team also think they can win so, Mikel needs to pull himself together and inspire his men to make Nigerians proud.
