Game of Thrones Season 8 is slated to be released in April 2019. The announcement comes from the new GOT teaser video by HBO. However, the teaser video does not include any footage from GOT Season 8. Also, there is currently no precise date for the movie premiere.
But the short video is a thrilling reminder of all the major characters and gives an assurance that this new season will be a remarkable one. GOT executive producers, David Benioff, and DB Weiss gave a few pointers about what can be expected. They disclosed that the start of Season 8 will mirror the Season 1 episodes.
Release date, character comebacks and everything else you should know
According to the promotional video HBO put out on Tuesday, the final season of the phenomenal movie will be launched on April 2019, on an exact date. All the Game of Thrones season 8 enthusiasts will have to patiently anticipate.
David Benioff and DB Weiss gave some hints about the first episodes with the Dragon Queen, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) riding with Jon Snow and her armies to Winterfell to prepare for the arrival of the Night King and the army of the dead.
Entertainment Weekly, as well as some of the casts, also threw a few hints on what to expect from this season.
Expect to find out the trouble Sansa finds herself in and whether or not she may get through it.
Other casts to expect in Game of Thrones seasons 8 are Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Bran and Sam, who are getting ready to reunite with Jon Snow; Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster), Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham); Celsei Lannister, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), among others.
Filming took so much time
The Games of Thrones Season 8 finale filming started in October 2017 and officially ended in July 2018.
The battle scenes between humankind and the white walkers in Season 8 took several weeks to film.
In fact, reports show the “The face-off between the White Walkers and humankind next season will include the series’ biggest battle to date. The crew spent 55-night shoots for the battle’s outdoor scenes at Winterfell alone.”
The combat sequence in the movie will contain multiple focal points. “The battle intercuts between multiple characters involved in their own survival storyline that each feels like its own genre”.
Game of Thrones Season 8 New Roles
Interestingly, fans can expect to see two new roles in this season. According to the listing gotten by Watchers on the Wall (GOT Fansite), the final season will feature two child roles. The first being a ‘Northern girl’ about age 8 and another being a boy from a poor family of about the same age as the girl.
